PROVENANCE: Herbert Patrick (1936-2018) Atlanta, Georgia.He attended Boys Central high school, which he played center for the 1952 Central High School State A champions football team.Herb started his career in the appliance business and was employed with his uncle Tom Kirby appliance until 1971, then he opened his own business Herberts appliances. He was part of the uptown business community for over 49 years. His fascination for antiques came the memories of items that he remembered in his parents and grandparents home. The Jade sculpture of a Chinese sampan boat. A sage sculpted on the sampan boat in standing on the rear, and large rectangle hood on the mid boat, and thrashing lishui waves carved at the bottom of the boat. Elegant jade vessel, with very fine relief encircling the entire outer surface. Highly polished stone, showing a pale celadon hue. Relatively Uniform milky coloration with a tinge of variation in hue. Translucent properties are present as light strikes the unblemished basin. Brilliant luster with very precise craftsmanship throughout. Silky and flawless to the touch with highly polished interior.
