Featured in this lot is this bronze sculpture titled "Country Doctor" by Montana artist Harvey Rattey circa 1988. The sculpture features a wonderfully and professionally crafted bronze on wooden base construction that shows a Cabriolet with its horse drawing it trotting along at a speedy pace perspectively to get to a house call seeing as doctors reported to the homes of the sick and maimed house visits. The bronze is marked as follows: Country Doctor - Harvey Rattey - 1988 - 123/200. The plaque on the front of the base is marked as follows: Country Doctor - Harvey Rattey - 1988. Harvey Rattey was a Montana artist, born and raised in Chinook. His love of the West and the ranching lifestyle led to a successful career in art. Together with his wife, they opened a bronze casting foundry in Bozeman. In addition, Rattey was an enrolled member of the Little Shell Band of the Chippewa Tribe. The condition of this bronze sculpture is well preserved with some heavier patina adorning the bronze but otherwise shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this bronze sculpture is 6 7/8" x 9 1/2" x 4 1/8". The collective weight of this bronze sculpture is 3lb 8oz.
