The sheet is minimally toned and corrugated and in places tiny foxing spots can be seen. The right edge bears a stain. The sheet is mounted to a mat at the upper edge of the sheet. The sheet dimensions are 15.7 x 22.4 cm. The framed dimensions are 38.6 x 44.1 cm. Wilhelm Kuhnert (1865-1926) After studying at the Berlin Art Academy from 1883 to 1887 as a student of F. Bellermann (1814-1889) and P. Meyerheim (1842-1915), Kuhnert travelled to Egypt, East Africa and India to conduct studies on the local exotic animal and landscape. In addition to the production of numerous drawings and etchings, Kuhnert also worked as book illustrator, e.g. he illustrated the 3-volume work ‘Das Tierleben der Erde’ by Wilhelm Haacke.
