Tancrède et Clorinde Pierre noire 24 x 16,4 cm Julius Hübner se place dans la droite lignée des peintres Nazaréens, qui en 1809, créent la Lukasbund (Confrérie de Saint Luc) dans le but de revitaliser l'art à travers la foi chrétienne et sous l'influence du romantisme allemand. Partis vivre à Rome pour retrouver les racines et l'authentique ferveur de l'art chrétien, ils s'inspirent de leur figure d'autorité, Raphaël, et de l'Italie du XVIe siècle en général. Les deux amants représentés ici sont les protagonistes de la Jérusalem délivrée écrite par Le Tasse en 1581. Tancredi and Clorinde Black Stone 24 x 16.4 cm Julius Hübner follows in the footsteps of the Nazarene painters, who in 1809 founded the Lukasbund (Brotherhood of Saint Luke) with the aim of revitalising art through the Christian faith and under the influence of German Romanticism. They went to live in Rome to rediscover the roots and the authentic fervour of Christian art. They were inspired by their authority figure, Raphael, and by 16th century Italy in general. The two lovers represented here are the protagonists of the Jerusalem Deliverance written by Le Tasse in 1581.
