heliogravure Title: "Weibliches Bildnis" (1912) ("Portrait of a Lady") The portrait is of Adele Bloch-Bauer, Klimt's most famous model, a socialite whose Salon gathered the most brilliant representatives of art and culture in Vienna's 1900. From "Das Werk von Gustav Klimt. Heliogravure bearing original gold signet design Klimt created for each heliogravure in the lower margin. Slight foxing lower left margin (under mat). Museum conservation mat and frame. Only monograph of Klimt's works done under his direct supervision and in his lifetime. Few prints for this publication have survived; very rare! Publisher: Hugo Heller - Verlag, Vienna. Measures 12.5" x 8", on a 18" x 18" (49cm x 49cm) sheet. Limited edition series of 300 (most of which were destroyed during WWI) printed from 1908-1914.
