(French,1727-1775)Portrait of a Woman in a Blue Velvet Gown with Gold Sash, frameplate indicates "Catherine D'Outremont", unsigned, oil on canvas, 32-3/4 x 26-1/4 in.; 19th century painted wood and composition frame French incised, "ORNAMENTS /DE. COMPOSITION", lined, old retouch possible under heavy varnish layer, crackle, craqulure indentations from the reverse, flaking and abrasions at edges, pin-sized hole at right edge; frame resurfaced and with losses to composition.
