Signed low center and titled 'Manana Point' on a period label that remains on the frame itself from William Macbeth Gallery New York (1893 - 1952). The work itself measures 25 x 35 inches and is displayed in an ornate gilded and gessoed wood frame circa 1900 that measures 38 x 48 inches. According to the ALA Bulletin of 1911, volume 5, page 33, an oil on canvas by Paul Dougherty titled Manana Point was donated to the Fort Worth Library in Texas. A large number of the pieces in this corporate collection were acquired from The Hall Gallery in Fort Worth Texas by the Layne Christensen Company.
