Oil on board. After Rosa Bonheur, ?The Horse Fair.? The well known scene of a tree-lined Paris boulevard was first painted by Bonheur for her Paris Salon debut of 1853. Jones captures the movement and activity of the painting, while displaying his own artistic choices through color and style. Signed lower left, ?H. B. Jones/New York.? 22? x 36? s.s., 29 �½? x 44? overall, in gilt and gesso frame (perhaps original).
