Izsák Perlmutter (1866-1932) Male Back Nude Izsák PERLMUTTER (1866-1932) Hungarian painter with jewish origin studied art in Budapest, later in Paris on the Julian Academy. From 1898 to 1904 he lived in the Netherlands and was strongly influenced by a the flemish painters specially by Jozef Israels. He moved back to Hungary to the artist colony in Szolnok and than to Besztercebánya. At the end of his carrer he worked in Budapest and painted mostly landscapes in the sorroundings. From his legacy his successors founded the Jewish Museum in Budapest.
