STYLE OF ÉDOUARD MANET (1832-1883): HEAD STUDIES Oil on canvas, unsigned, lined. 10 1/2 x 12 1/2 in., 13 3/4 x 15 1/4 in. (frame). Note: There is a handwritten note on the back of the stretcher that references Manet's trip by the vessel Le Havre et Guadaloupe in 1848 to Rio de Janeiro where Manet did oil sketches such as this one, possibly depicting fellow shipmates during the passage.
