DESCRIPTION: Eyvind Earle (American, 1916-2000). Serigraph. Valley. Published in 1974. Depicts a clearing at the edge of woods. Edition numbered in pencil 27/300. Signed at lower right corner in pencil "Eyvind Earle". On ivory matting in a gold metallic frame. Born in New York City to parents who separated, he was kidnapped by his father, Ferdinand Earle, at 10 years old. With his father, he traveled around the world painting, and had his first one person show at 14 in Ascain, France. Thereafter he ran away and joined his mother in Hollywood, California where he took a job as a sketch artist at United Artists Studio. He was hired by Walt Disney to style Sleeping Beauty, and his hand can be seen throughout the film. MEASUREMENTS: Image 8" x 10". Overall with frame 16-1/4" x 18-1/4". CONDITION: Toning and discoloration to matting. Light wear and scratches to frame.
