Ad...ration on the stretcher and numbered A6485 on an old sticker Oil on canvas 24 1/4 x 16 1/4 inches Provenance: Descended in the family of Samuel Abrams, Brooklyn, NY In 1938 Sam Abrams founded the Esquire Shoe Polish Company; he also owned a small interest in the Brooklyn Dodgers. In February 1901, John George Brown exhibited a painting entitled Mutual Admiration at Gill Art Galleries in Springfield, MA, which may be the present work.
