Arnold Whitman Knauth the Younger (American (Massachusetts), b.1918). "Leaving Port", oil on artists board, signed lower right "A. Knauth". Painting depicts many tall ships in different stages of leaving port, one at center foreground with three figures on board below full sails, that boat towing a skiff, and three other similar boats in the distance to right, the sky depicted in pastels with long peach clouds over a grey blue sky. Two labels to verso of board, one exhibition label and one sales label, from the Rockport Art Association, as well as several pencil inscriptions to verso of frame, likely from a previous painting. Framed approximately 22.25" x 30.125", uframed aproximately 15.875" x 24".
