Ernest Walbourn (British, 1872-1927) The artist's wife, Eva Walbourn, standing by a duck pond in a farmyard signed lower right "Ernest Walbourn" oil on canvas h:59 w:90 cm Provenance: From an Irish country house. Ernest Walbourn was a Victorian landscape painter, specialising in cottage and farm scenes. These paintings were mostly set around Chingford in Essex. He exhibited 9 works at the Royal Academy, 12 works at the Royal Society of Artists, Birmingham, and 6 at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. Walbourn's wife, Eva, was a proficient landscape painter and features in many of his paintings. Works by Walbourn can be found at the Bolton Art Gallery, the Kirklees Museum, and Herbert Art Gallery, Coventry.
