Franz Eybl (1806-1880) Franz Eyble studied 1816-28 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna initially under Josef Klieber, from 1817 under Josef Mößmer and from 1820 under Johann Baptist vom Lampi senior (History painting), as well as Franz Caucig. He was, together with Johann Mathias Ranftl and Josef Danhauser, a student of Peter Krafft. Eventually he changed from landscape and genre painting to portraits und specialized at small portraits in oil and watercolor.
