It is a stanza of the poem ‘Scum & Slime’ that the artist published under his record label on the LP ‘A Diamond Hidden In the Mouth of A Corpse’. Condition: The watercolored embossing is in very good condition. The sheet is mounted to a support. The frame is in very good condition, too, with only minor signs of use. The dimensions of the sheet are 28.7 x 28.5 cm. The frame measures 43 x 42.5 cm. John Giorno (b. 1936) After graduating in 1958 John Giorno worked as a stockbroker in New York, where he met Andy Warhol, who decisively influenced him in his artistic development. In the early 1960s Giorno began to work with poetry, performance and tape recorders. In 1965 he founded the record label and artists' network Giorno Poetry Systems, with which he experimented with new technologies in Music and Poetry Performance. Dealing with the spoken, written and object-like word, 1967 originated the first Poem Prints and Poem Paintings, text fragments transformed to objets d'art.
