Yasharel Manzy, Iranian-American artist, oil on canvas entitled "Luncheon" (1999). Painting depicts three figures seated at a table with red cloth. Signed lower right, Yasharel. Housed in contemporary, gold-tone finished frame. Yasharel Manzy paints from memory, preferring the controlled conditions of the studio to the variations of light and climate outdoors. Rather than creating preliminary sketches and blending pigments on the palette, he applies paint directly to the canvas to achieve his distinctive impasto. For many years he was an oriental rug dealer and one can see the influence of the palette of fine Persian carpets in his work, which tend toward abstract expressionism. He was selected as an Emerging Artist by "Art and Antiques" magazine. This painting was purchased in 1999 from Left Bank Gallery, St. Simons Island, Georgia. It measures 16 inches height, 20 inches width sight and 26 inches height, 30 inches width framed. 16"H x 20"W
