Lazaro Lozano, Bonifacio (1906-1999) Oil on canvas. Signed, dedicated and dated from 1980 on the reverse. Lozano, of Spanish ancestry, was born in the Portuguese fishing town of Nazaré. Some of his works, of an expressionist source, were particularly dedicated to his home town people, to their constant struggle and steadfastness to overcome the harshness of sea life. Artist repeatedly awarded and represented in several countries and museums such as: Museu José Malhoa, (Caldas da Rainha - Portugal); the Museu da Nazaré; (Nazaré - Portugal); the Museu do Chiado, (Lisbon - Portugal); the Columbus Museum (Georgia - USA); Leeds University (Leeds - UK); Museu Provincial, (Badajoz - Spain), Ministério de Assuntos Exteriores (Madrid - Spain); Museu da Cidade de Lourenço Marques (Maputo - Mozambique), and in private collections scattered all over the world.
