There are pressure marks evident from the stretcher. The general condition is good. The frame is in good condition with only minor signs of wear. The painting measures 47 x 65.5 cm. The framed dimensions are 69.5 x 87.5 cm. Johann Jungblut (1860-1912) Johann Jungblut was born in Saarburg (Trier) and initially worked as a porcelain painter for the well- known German manufacturer Villeroy & Boch in Mettlach. He discovered painting as a self-taught artist, influenced by his impressions he gained in Düsseldorf, where he had settled in 1885. Jungblut specialized in landscapes and marine compositions and followed the tradition of old-Dutch paintings. His many trips to Norway and Holland served him as a great source of inspiration.
