Even though Falk was a masterful portrait painter, the landscape continued to be central to Falk's focus throughout his career. Robert Rafailovich Falk (RUSSIAN, 1886-1958) Born in Moscow in 1886, Robert Rafailovich Falk is a Russian painter who founded the group, the Jack of Diamonds. Deeply influenced by the work of French neo-expressionist painter Paul Cézanne, the artist was known to use several layers of paint to create a sense of form and volume. Falk studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in the early 20th century, going on later to teach at VKhUTEMAS. Condition: The canvas is not lined.
