NISSON ABRAMOVICH SHIFRIN (RUSSIAN 1892-1961), Cityscape, circa 1910, oil on unstreched canvas, 8-7/8 x 7-3/4 in (22.5 x 19.7 cm), PROVENANCE Acquired from the artist's family. LOT NOTES Shifrin Nisson was best known as a graphic artist, theatre designer. He studied in Kiev until c. 1920. He was active in Kiev, Ukraine; Moscow from early 1920s. He exhibited with Koltso, Kiev, 1914; OSt 1925-27. He taught at Moscow VKhuTeIn in late 1920s.
