The archive number has not been communicated yet but will be handed in later Dimensions: 82 x 81 cm Provenance: Private collection, Italy As an important representative of European post-war modernism and following the tradition of informal painting, Olivieri focuses on the visualization of the painting process and the depiction of structures in his abstract works. Condition: The painting shows slight craquelure and dissolved traces of varnish. The frame is slightly chipped. Overall in good condition. Claudio Olivieri (b. 1934) Born in Rome, Claudio Olivieri moved to Milan in order to study painting at the Brera Academy in the early 1950s. From 1993 to 2011 he taught there as a professor. Since the 1970s his work has been associated with ‘Analytical Painting’ and ‘Fundamental Painting’. Olivieri has shown his work repeatedly at the Venice Biennial and the documenta in Kassel.
