ANDREA CHIESI - CLANDESTINA III is part of the Industrial Structures series. The artist research started in the 80s exploring abandoned places and architectural structures. They all are inspired by real places but not all of them survived to the present day. Chiesi's palette often utilises striking black and white with hints of vibrant hues. His artwork is focused on his surroundings, landscapes and cityscapes suspended in time with dramatic skys. Influenced by the absorbing presence of architectural forms and his personal experience of urban environments. Chiesi allows the viewer to inhabit these spaces from his perspective, a shared vision of artist and observer. By incorporating life experience and true feeling instead of a distinctive architectural style into his oeuvre Chiesi conveys a very personal insight into the foundations and developments of art, structure and the spaces we occupy.
