John Fitz Marshall (1859-1932), oil on canvas, two terriers guarding a horse blanket, spur and hunting whip while a black cat peers from behind, signed and dated indistinctly on lower right, comes with a letter from trhe artist's wife, same family ownership for at least 100 years, exhibited at the Royal Academy, marked on reverse "Painted from life by J. Fitz Marshall-28 George Street, Croydon (UK)", very good condition, 24" x 30" sight, 31" x 36" with frame
