Izaack VAN OOSTEN (1613-1661) The Village Entrance Oil on Masonite signed 'I. v. Oosten fecit' at bottom left. Son of an art dealer, Izaack van Oosten became master of the guild in 1652. His works incorporate all the elements of the Antwerp school: following in the footsteps of Jan Brueghel the Elder, he is known for his open landscapes filled with people and animals, as seen in this painting.
