This lot features an oil on canvas seashore landscape painting by Blanche Lazzell. Lazzell (American, 1878 - 1956) was an American painter, printmaker and designer. Known especially for he white-line woodcuts, she was an early Modernist American artist bringing elements of Cubism and Abstraction to her works. Lazzell spent her summers in the Cape Code art community of Provincetown, Massachusetts, where this piece was most likely painted. Signed lower right register. Measures approx. 13" x 16", with frame 16" x 19.75". The auction high for Lazzell is $505,000. This piece comes with a letter from William H.
