Oil on canvas, 34 1/4 x 21 1/2 inches. Signed "Abbott Graves" l.r. Handwritten letter reads, "Dear Dr. Unity - Your letter was received by me a couple of weeks ago in N.Y. & and I have delayed answering till now - The picture you speak of "Ready Again" was painted at beginning of Spanish war - I happen to have for a model at the time an old G.A.R. man and he remarked he would like to fight again, hence my inspiration - Glad you enjoy picture - / Very truly yours, / Abbott Graves. / April ninth. (Apr 9-1924 date stamp).
