ROERICH, SVETOSLAV (1904–1993) Water Carrier signed and dated 1942. Tempera on cardboard, 30.5 by 46 cm. Provenance: A gift from the artist to Ruhaina Mohamedi Hydari, the daughter-in-law of the Dewan of Hyderabad Sir Akbar Hydari. Private collection, India. The present lot is a study for S. Roerich’s 1942 painting Procession, previously at the Nicholas Roerich Museum, New York.
