Oil on canvas. Unsigned. Academy study of standing nude male. Housed on a late 19th C walnut frame with water gilt liner. Label on verso "R.H. Love Galleries". Accompanied with letter of provenance from R.H. Love Galleries. Relined. Good condition commensurate with age use. Called the "Grand Old Man of Romanticism" Gustave Cimiotti was one of the exhibitors at the Armory show of 1913 with two entries, The Barrier and Hillside. He was a student of John Twachtman and also study at the Academy Julian in Paris. He was close friend of John La Farge and Wilson Homer. Sight, 30"H x 18"W. Overall, 34"H x 22"W.
