He became the first stencil artist to be nominated for the Archibald Prize in 2012 for his portrait of Catholic priest Father Bob Maguire. The same painting made a further record securing the highest price at public auction for a work by an Australian stencil artist. His work has been no stranger to controversy with his piece Wake Up and Smell the Stink attracting criticism for his depiction of Jesus Christ wearing a crown of thorns and a gas mask. © E.L.K/ Copyright Agency, 2020
