"Alexander Keirincx gestaltet sein Gemälde, als würde man geradewegs aus einer verschatteten Waldlichtung heraustreten und sogleich mitten in die idyllische, sich über das weite Querformat ausbreitende, Sommerlandschaft hineinblicken. Schwungvoll umfassen die dunklen Bäume rahmenhaft die Szenerie. Ausgewogen und subtil platziert bewegen sich sowohl Tiere als auch Menschen auf der fein komponierten Bühne, die sich tief in den Bildraum erstreckt. Mittig springt von links eine weiße Kuh ihrer Herde voran zur rechten Bildhälfte, wo einige Bauersleute ihren Verrichtungen nachgehen. Elegant setzen sich die unterschiedlichen Licht- und Farbzonen harmonisch voneinander ab. Auch der zeitgenössische Künstler Peter Krauskopf arbeitet in seiner Collage mit Versatzstücken und farbigen Zonen. Wie sein niederländischer Kollege setzt er unterschiedliche Einzelelemente ein, darunter das ebenfalls in der Sammlung befindliche Landschaftsbild des Jochem Govertsz Camphuysen, um daraus eine eigenständige Komposition entstehen zu lassen. Geschieht dieses Vorgehen bei Keirincx jedoch ausschließlich innerhalb des Bildraumes, sprengt Krauskopf diese Grenzen indem er sie negiert und eine neue Realität schafft."
