oil on canvas, half-length portrait of a gent depicted in a fur-trimmed red coat with white lace jabot and cuff, unsigned, placard reads: 'Antoine Vestier 1740-1824', the placard has always been with painting which was transferred from old frame upon re-framing approx. 50 years ago, painting was also restored in that same time period, UV light reveals scattered spots and areas of inpainting (see scans), relined, in oval formatted frame, image 36x28.5in., canvas 40x32in., overall framed 48x40.5in., Opening Bid $2000 Provenance: By direct family decent, purported family history traces the painting back over 90 years.
