Pieter Van Avont (1600 - 1652) Oil on canvas painting of King Solomon and Queen of Sheba. Depicting in this painting is the Queen of Sheba who is a seeker of truth and wisdom. She has heard that King Solomon of Israel is a very wise man and travels on camel to Jerusalem to meet him and test his knowledge with questions and riddles. With her she brings frankincense, myrrh, gold and precious jewels. Painting appears to be unsigned, has not been examined out of frame. Sight Size: 19 x 28 in. Overall Framed Size: 34 x 26 in.
