BIOGRAPHY: Edoardo Gelli studied in Florence at the Accademia di Belle Arti and in the painting school of Antonio Ciseri. He made a name for himself in particular with genre representations and historical costume studies. In a virtuoso manner, Gelli deals with the depiction of a painter's studio, in which the exuberant-looking model has settled in the bentwood rocking chair.
