Mr. Turner began painting in oil at the early age of thirteen under the guidance of his father, the late Raymond E. Turner who was a student of the Columbia School of Fine Arts. Today, Doug works mostly in oil on canvas or panel to create his Cape coastal scenes, but he is also known for his watercolors and pastels. Turner moved to the Cape in 1982 and opened the Turner Art Gallery in West Chatham, MA.
