“Sand, Sea, and Sky is an expression of my love of the Cape.” Milton Teichman, born in 1930 in New York City, is a retired professor of English who has had a parallel career as a painter and sculptor. He is now celebrating 59 years of consistent work in both painting and sculpture. Teichman lived in New York’s Hudson Valley for many years, and moved to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, in 1999 where he opened the Teichman Gallery in the town of Brewster to show his work. Teichman has exhibited extensively in New York State, with one person shows at Bennett College, 1975, and Marist College, 1980, 1990. In fall, 2004, he was artist in residence at Cape Cod Community College and presented a retrospective of 42 years of painting and sculpture. In the winter of 2012, he had a one person show of recent painting and ceramic sculpture at the Cahoon Museum in Mashpee. A retrospective of 57 years of painting and sculpture entitled “Modernism, Mexico, and Cape Cod” appeared at the Cape Cod Museum of Art in August – September, 2019. His 7-foot aluminum sculpture “Royal Lady,” may be seen in the CCMoA’s Sculpture Garden. Teichman’s work appears in many private collections.
