AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) GENRE PORTRAIT, watercolor on paper, depicting a seated young lass wearing a white dress and bonnet with pink plumes, holding a bouquet of flowers, gazing over the ocean at a sailboat on the horizon, signed "J. Symington" lower left, possibly for James Symington (American, 1841-1915). Housed under glass in its original gilt aesthetic movement frame with gesso rose vines at the top left.
