W. was trained as a porcelain painter in Meissen in 1967-71 and worked there until 1975, when he began studies at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden. Since 1980 he works as a freelance artist, since 1998 in Burgstädtel near Dresden. Mus.: Dresden (Gal. Neue Meister), Leipzig (Mus. der Bild.
