Linda Nelson Stocks (American, 1938 - 2011), "The Wren's Nest", 2000, oil on canvas, unframed, depicts a bird's eye view of rolling hills in New England, Colonial homes and figures are scattered throughout the composition including children in a pony cart, mother in garden, two women visiting among a flock of chicken, bulldog, pair of geese and cats lounging on fence, signed and dated lower right, part of signature partially obscured by grass strokes, light wear consistent with age and use including rubbing to edge, light toning to clouds, 20" h. x 24" w.
