Arizona, Colorado,b.1948 Titled "Bringing Comfort," depicts an Indigenous individual in regalia with white streaks on their face holding eagle feathers in their hands. Knauf attended Northern Arizona University where he travelled to Navajo, Hopi and Apache reservations as well as rural mining and ranching communities. While observing the people within these communities, Knauf began to become interested in the West and portrayed this interest in his works. He has been featured as a cover artist for Southwest Art alongside articles in numerous publications.
