Künstlerinfo: deutscher Maler, Grafiker und Buchkünstler (1939 Grenzberg Ostpreußen), studierte von 1957–1962 an der Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig unter Heinz Wagner und Hans Mayer-Foreyt, Lehrauftrag am Institut für Kunsterziehung der Universität Leipzig 1962–1963, Aspirantur an der Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig, anschließend freischaffend als Maler, Grafiker, Bildhauer und Medailleur tätig, 1974–2004 lehrte er an der Burg Giebichenstein Hochschule für Kunst und Design Halle, 1981 zum Professor berufen, 1974–1978 Vorsitzender des Bezirksverbandes Leipzig des Verbandes Bildender Künstler der DDR, eines der bedeutendsten Werke des Künstlers ist das Auftragswerk für den öffentlichen Raum zur Geschichte des Leipziger Marktplatzes.
