It remains a place where painting, waving and ceramics serve as living expressions of culture and community, connecting generations through a shared creative practice. This work Family Painting brings together six Ernabella artists, senior and emerging, whose collaborative vision celebrates kinship, story, and Country. Michelle Lewis, Elizabeth Dunn, Langaliki Lewis, Atipalku Intjalki, Yanyi Dunn, and Joelene Jack each contribute elements from their own cultural narratives and inherited designs. Circles, lines, and fluid motifs reference the waterholes, sandhills, and travelling tracks of their desert homelands. Working collectively, the artists personal iconography becomes a shared visual story of connection and belonging. Their layered paintings shows the intergenerational passage of knowledge that defines Ernabella's practice, where cultural continuity and artistic innovation strengthen community and family bonds.
