작품 상세
An oil on canvas painting by Elena Santonja y Esquivias (1932–2016), depicting a group of gannets. These large seabirds, known for their streamlined bodies and striking white plumage tipped with black, are celebrated for their dramatic diving flights and grace in coastal environments. Santonja, widely recognized as a Spanish television presenter and occasional actress, studied at the San Fernando School of Fine Arts in Madrid. She began exhibiting in 1976 and, after nine years hosting the popular cooking show “Con las manos en la masa” (Hands in the Dough), returned to the art world with a solo exhibition at the Faunas Gallery, Madrid, in 1991.
