George K. Gillespie RUA (1924-1995) REFLECTIONS, KYLEMORE, CONNEMARA oil on canvas signed lower left; titled on reverse h:20  w:30 in. George Kennedy Gillespie, son of George W. Gillespie, a baker, did not fully enter the art world until 1977 when he retired from the family bakery and set up a professional art studio from his home in Newtownards, County Down. These painters were mostly academic in style and traditional in technique.
