Oil on board Signed, located and dated 1843. 31 x 54 cm William James Müller (1812—1845) was a prominent British painter and landscape painter, considered to be the brightest figure in the Bristol School. Despite his short life (he died at the age of 33), he left a prolific legacy that greatly influenced the art of his time. He was a tireless traveler, who enriched his theme with exotic landscapes and scenes from everyday life abroad.
