In a strong sepia hue, the artist herself is enticed by the beauty of this wall. Karin Székessy is known for black and white nude photography and artists’ portraits. Condition: The photograph is in very good condition. It is verso reversible mounted in three points under a mat and framed. On the reverse are adhesives stripes along the margins from a former mount. There are some small color chips on the frame. The sheet all-encompassing image size is 60.7 x 41.4 cm. The total dimensions, including the frame, are 78 x 59.5 cm. Karin Székessy (b. 1938) Born in Essen, Germany, in 1938, Karin Székessy finished her studies at the Institute for Journalism in Munich in 1959. She worked as a reportage photographer for the magazine Kristall from 1960 to 1966. From 1963 onwards Székessy dedicated her work almost entirely to the subject of nude photography. She worked with the artist Paul Wunderlich, whom she later married. She was a teacher in Fashion Photography at the Art School in Hamburg for two years. By 1970 Székessy had worked as a freelance photographer for numerous international publications, such as Der Spiegel and Playboy. In 1978 Székessy received the Kodak prize. Her work has been exhibited internationally, among others in London, Tokyo and Paris. Today Karin Székessy’s works and lives in Hamburg and the South of France.
