In doing so, Tillmans is mainly interested in the different qualities of the medium as such – the photo paper, which he alters during the developing process. Condition: The C-print is in very good condition. It is mounted at the upper edge on a support cardboard. The dimensions of the sheet are 60.9 x 50.7 cm. Wolfgang Tillmans (b. 1968) A native of Remscheid, the photo artist lived in London since 1995, where he was awarded the Turner Prize as the first photographer ever. A graduate of Bournemouth & Poole College of Art and Design in South England, he had become famous for portraits of young people in his environment in the 1990s of themes regarding homosexuality and gender issues, which were published in magazines like i-D, Spex, Interview, SZ-Magazin and Butt. Sincethe late 1990s, he is more interested in exploring the photographic material as such. He now lives and works in Berlin, where he opened the exhibition space Between Bridges. Tillmans is a member of the Academy of Fine Arts Berlin (2012) and of the Royal Academy of Arts (2013). His works have been honored in some large solo exhibitions in international museums.
