The portfolio comprises seven archival pigment prints with close-ups of the so-named Dali marble, a type of marble from the southwest of China. Dali Marble is known for its picturesque surface quality, which is reminiscent of landscape paintings. The monochromatic color palette within the rock evokes memories and dreams of the artist’s past and present. Condition: All sheets as well as the portfolio are in a very good condition. The image dimensions measure 36.6 x 31.8 cm; 27 x 35.5 cm; 38.5 x 31.7 cm; 35.3 x 35.3 cm; 31.7 x 33.1 cm and 16.2 x 37 cm, the sheet dimensions each are 56 x 43.4 cm. The portfolio measures 59.1 x 45.9 x 4.8 cm. Not Vital (b. 1948) The Swiss artist, was born in Sent in the canton of Grisons. His artistic talent was early discovered and promoted by the art historian Max Huggler, who spent his holidays in Sent. From 1968 to 1969 Not Vital studied at the Centre universitaire de expérimental Vincennnes in Paris. Subsequently, he educated himself. In the 1980s he also began to create sculptural works. Until today Not Vital travels much through the world and lives not only in his native town Sent, but also in Italy, China, the USA and the Niger. The impressions of this cultural diversity is also reflected in his work. As materials Vital prefer bronze, gold, aluminum, stainless steel, silver and marble, of which he creates with exciting contrast organic shapes.
