Each mounted to original board (slightly soiled), with letterpress text below the image on the mount.William England, who was at first a daguerreotype portraitist in London between 1840 - 1845, gave up portraiture in 1854 and dedicated himself to landscape photography. He was well-travelled and visited and photographed the USA (specifically Niagara Falls), Paris, Switzerland, Tyrol and Italy. In 1886 he became the vice-president and then president of the London Photographic Society. He often placed people in his landscapes giving them a very picturesque appearance and the strong contrasts point to his technically perfected work methods. – Each slightly faded in left side, otherwise strong prints in very good condition.
