BORIS BUCAN (1947- ) FIESTAS DE SAN ISIDRO. 1981. 54x78 inches, 137 1/4x198 1/4 cm. SC Graficki Servis - Studentski Center, Zagreb. Condition A-: minor creases, foxing and darkening at edges. Four-sheets, unattached. Paper. Bucan was born in the Croatian capitol Zagreb, and in 1972, graduated from that city's Academy of Fine Arts. He began designing posters shortly thereafter and gained international attention at the 1984 Venice Biennale for a series of posters he made for Radio-Television Zagreb. He has since exhibited all over the world. The Croatian Designer Association recently gave him their lifetime achievement award. His large format posters are arresting, not only for their size but also for their superb combination of design and humor.
